A criterium ("crit" for short) is a closed circuit course on which bicycle racers compete in a timed event. Bring your family out to watch the races, and peruse booths set up by local vendors and cycling-related businesses. The Professional Race takes place at 3:35 p.m. And one to two-hundred competitors from Tennessee and the surrounding areas are expected to compete throughout the day for cash and prizes. The CRMC Criterium race course is a half-mile loop including the courthouse square. Criteriums present a type of racing that is challenging and designed to bring out intense efforts by the racers. It also makes for an exciting, spectator-friendly show. Come on out, learn more about cycling, and show support for your community, local charities, and the racers! |
